UPPER SOUTHAMPTON BASKETBALL COVID-19 MANDATORY POLICIES
Protecting the health and safety of the children in our program is, and must continue to be, paramount.
Our program is doing everything that we reasonably can do in order to give your children the opportunity to
play basketball, get out of the house, exercise, socialize, and learn. Without your continued vigilance in adhering
to our policies, and those of the CDC and BCDOH, we will not be able to continue our programs.
It is essential that you take serious COVID-19 and do not endanger other children in the program.
This requires the parent/guardian to make swift, proactive decisions to limit your child from practicing or playing
in a game, for the greater good, health and welfare of the other participants/program, even, if it upsets your child.
Take all reasonable measures to reduce or eliminate exposure to Covid-19.
Comply with CDC and BCDOH guidelines.
Report all out-of-state travel to your child’s Coach prior to returning to any Upper Southampton Basketball activity.
Quarantine time may be required post-travel, depending on current government guidelines.
We reserve the right to require you to quarantine before returning to any Upper Southampton Basketball activity if Upper Southampton Basketball believes it is in the best interests of the health and safety of our program.
Promptly report to your child’s Coach any exposure to Covid-19 by yourself, or those who live in your household before allowing your child to return to any basketball activity (including practice or games). Quarantine may be required.
For Definition of Exposure/Close Contact/Quarantine, see: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/quarantine.html
If you are unsure if you should Quarantine—please contact your child’s Coach and they will discuss it with the Board of Directors
Promptly take a Covid-19 Nasal Swab test (not rapid test) by a medical professional when you are either exposed to Covid-19, or live with a relative who was exposed to Covid-19, or you display any symptoms of Covid-19, and then immediately share those results with your child’s Coach.
If your child feels, or anyone in the household where your child lives feels any signs of illness, the child/participant must stay home from all Basketball activities. Common symptoms of Covid-19 include fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fatigue, body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Promptly share with your child’s Coach anytime your child or someone in their household have any these symptoms, so we can best take precautionary measures to protect all other participants in our Upper Southampton Basketball Program.
Safety while at Southampton Basketball Activity.
Wear mask when feasible- this includes players and coaches
Maintain social distancing-
No spectators at practice until further notice
Judicious use of hand sanitizers or washing of hands
Do not share water bottles/sports drinks
Keep your hands to your self
We understand the personal nature of your health; although, to best operate a youth sports program in these trying times, we must have prompt reporting from each of you, as described above. No child has to play basketball, this is not mandatory, and thus, if you do not want to share the necessary information with our program in order for us to best maintain a safe environment for your child and others, then your child does not have to play in our program. We have to have strict adherence to these policies in order to have the best chance of continuing our program and protecting the children in our program.
We appreciate your understanding and compliance!
